FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE LINEUPS - PRESEASON

We are now close to those vital preseason friendlies which give you an indication of how teams will line up on opening day and also which players are in form and which are not.

Below are  where I think each team is at the moment in terms of potential lineups. These lineups will help to identify:

(i)  Potenial bargains when the barclays and facebook sites open.

(ii)  Where  there will be battles for position in teams.

Remember when the fantasy premier league site administrators are uncertain over who will be                          selected for any position that will be reflected in a lower value.  Should someone who the admisitrators had selection doubts about make a position their own, then there is an opportunity for a bargain for fantasy premier league managers.  We will help identify those areas and over the coming weeks review by reviewing key preseason games.
Remember these potential lineups  will obviously change markedly until kick off but we will update them regulalry.    The injury information is from Physio room or the premier league site.

ARSENAL

OUT

T Rosicky Achilles Injury no return date

L Fabianski Shoulder Injury no return date
B Sagna Broken Leg no return date
V Diaby Calf Muscle Strain no return date
E Frimpong ACL Knee Injury Sep 12
J Wilshere Ankle/Foot Injury no return date

4-3-3

Szczesny - Jenkinson Santos Vemaelen Koscielny - Song Arteta Coquelin- Podolski Walcott Giroud

By the way you will have noticed one obvious ommission from the line up.  Yes i have assumed RVP will leave.  With the amount of current injuries in the side the line up above will be of litle value when the site opens and we will have to wait until things become clearer over the current weeks.   i think ultimatey positions will be fairly settled once injuries abate except for the left back and 1 midfield position.  itherefore dont expect to find too much value here.

ASTON VILLA

OUT

                A Hutton Ankle/Foot Injury 10th Aug 12
A Weimann MCL Knee Ligament Injury 3rd Aug 12
S Petrov Acute Leukaemia no return date
  D Bent Ankle/Foot Injury 18th Aug 12

4-4-1-1

Given - Lowton Warnock Dunne Collins - Nzogbia Herd El Ahmadi Agbonlahor -Ireland Bent

Very much a wait and see at the moment with a new manager in Paul Lambert.  You will all remember him as the enemy of all fantasy premier league managers last year with his  rotation crazy (throw darts at the squad list) team selections.

CHELSEA

OUT

D Sturridge Viral Meningitis no return date

4-3-3

Cech - Ivanovich Terry Luiz Cole - Mikel Meireles Lampard - Hazard Torres Marin

Things could all change here as well with Hulk on the transfer radar.  I've assumed Mata will be rested here after  the Olympics come opening day and that Matteo will go for the agresseive defence of Luiz as opposed to Cahill now that Luiz wont be going to the Olympics. The defence certainly has potential for value with at least 2 positions questionable.  Fantasy premier league captain options are interesting for game week 1 but Hazard or Torres are the main options at the moment

EVERTON

OUT

Anichebe Groin/Pelvis Injury no return date
J Rodwell Hamstring Injury no return date

4-4-1-1

Howard - Neville Baines Jagielka Distin - Fellaini Heitinga Pienaar Osman - Cahill Jelavic

I think Moyes will want the defensive strength in the midfield at home to Man U at the expense of Gibson.  I don't see new signing from Rangers, Naismith, making the opening fantasy premier league game at the moment. moyes will want to ease him in.  fairly settled side and its hard to see much value there with only a couple of debateable positions in defence and midfield.

FULHAM

OUT

B Ruiz Metatarsal Fracture 9th Jul 12

4-4-1-1

Schwarzer - Kelly Hangeland Hughes Riise - Duff Diarra Dembele Frie - Dempsey Petric

alot of uncertainty outside of defence here.  I can see a start for Petric with 2 strikers having left to date.  That hopefully will see Dempsey pushed up in to a central position.  I cant see a start for new fantasy premier league signing Riether at either right back or midfield at the moment.

LIVERPOOL

OUT

C Adam Knee Injury no return date
L Leiva ACL Knee Injury 18th Aug 12

4-3-3

Reina - Johnson Enrique Skrtel Agger - Henderson Gerrard Aquilani - Suarez Carrol Downing

Apart from the back its all guess work at the moment with a new manager in place.  this uncertainty will give alot of scope for value and Liverpool will get close preseason analysis from us.  My view at the moment is that I think he will try the passing option of maybe even Aquilani  over Leiva.  We could even see Maxi instead of the wasteful Downing.  Going to be very interesting.

MAN CITY

OUT

none

4-3-3

Hart - Zabaleta Kompany Lescott Clichy - Toure YY Barry Milner - Silva Aguero Tevez

I hesitated to put in RVP here.  Silva and Nasri will be far more interchangeable than last year and it will be interesting to see what values they are given..  I think Mancini will still go for the movement and creativity of Tevez rather than the traditional striker of Ballotelli irrespective of his Euro 2012.  Alot of rotation risk here for fantasy premier league managers.  I dont think there will be too much value despite the uncertainty just because of the rotation and the season will be more looking for those who are ceratin enough to be a captain prospect.

MAN UTD

OUT

D Fletcher Bowel Condition no return date
N Vidic ACL Knee Injury Sep 12

4-4-1-1

DeGea - Jones Evra Evans Ferdinand - Nani Kagawa Carrick Valencia - Rooney Welbeck

There's always a few questions for fantasy premier league managers with Manchester United for the same rotation reasons as City.  This is especially in the midfield where the flank trio of Valencia Young and Nani will battle out for 2 positions.  I'm expecting Kagawa to start although its hard to imagine Scholes not starting after the impact he made last season .  We will have to look out for his and Rooney's interaction. Again its unlikely there will be value at this stage and more about working out who will play

NEWCASTLE UTD

OUT

None

4-4-2

Krul - Simpson Santon Taylor Coloccini - Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Gutierrez - P Cisse Ba

I'm not expecting any surprises here for fantasy premier league managers after the over performing season just completed.  Cant see a place for the 2 new boys, the "trip off the tongue" duo of Amalfitano and Bigirimana. value will only come through injuries.

NORWICH CITY

OUT

none

4-4-2

Ruddy- Naughton Bennet R Martin,  Tierney - Bennet Surman Johnson Hoolahan - Holt Jackson

Again a new manager in Chris Hughton means that us fantasy premier league managers will need to get a lead from preseason matches. this does give us potential for value especuially in the area of a cheap reserve midfielder.  I've not made room for the versatile new signing from Rangers defender come midfielder Steven Whittaker or young potential star Jacob Butterfield who has signed from Barnsley

QPR

OUT

A Faurlin ACL Knee Injury 7th Jul 12
K Dyer Ankle/Foot Injury no return date

4-4-2

Green - Onuoha Ferdinand Nelsen Fabio - Mackie Diakate Faurlin Taarabt -Zamora Cisse

Alot of movement in the transfer market here and I expect there to be value in midfield as selection gets firmed up.  History shows us fantasy premier league managers that Mark Hughes isn't slow to introduce new signings and I will expect this to be the case here. There is a question over Jamie Mackie vs Andrew Johnson on the right flank as I expect him to stick with Zamora and Cisse.  Will get an eagle eye in preseason games

OUT

Karacan Malleolar injury unknown return date

 4-4-2

Federici - Pearce Gorkss Mills Cummings - Leigerwoot Guthrie Kebe McAnuff - Pogrebnyak N Hunt

Expect the team to be similar to last year but  I would anticipate that both new signings with  premier league experience will start.  Harte's value will be interesting.  He had strong attacking returns last year which could create  value for another player if he is deemed to be too old to play but commands a fantasy premier league premium value.

SOUTHAMPTON

OUT

none

4-4-2

Davis - Fonte Hooiveld Fox Richardson - Schniederlin  Davis Lallana Guly - Lambert Rodriguez

A new goal keeper seems inevitable here.  Lots of competition for the midfield places which may create value for a reserve for fantasy premier league managers. Front 2 should be predictable.

STOKE CITY

OUT

Sorensen Back Injury no return date
M Sidibe Knee Injury no return date

4-4-2

Begovic - Wilkinson Wilson Huth Shawcross - Walters Whelan Whitehead Etherington - Jerome Crouch

The battleground for places will be at fullback.  Midfield will be subject to rotation although not being in Europe should lessen that although you would be hard pressed to pick anyone other than Walters or Etherington.  Crouch should be nailed on up front with the battle for his partner being between Jones and Jerome.  Expect more signings as outgoings far outweigh incoming at present.  Rangers central midfielder Jamie Ness is the only signing and its hard to see him threaten a place early on.

SUNDERLAND

OUT

W Brown Knee Injury no return date
M Angeleri Knee Injury no return date

4-4-1-1

Mignolet - Cuellar Oshea Turner Bardsley - Larsson Cattermole Gardner McLean - Sessegnon Wickham

I've assumed that Bendtner wont be here so its left with Wickham as the only attacking option. Expect more transfers to make this irrelevant though.  The rest of the side is reasonably predictable from last season.

SWANSEA CITY

OUT

none

4-3-3

Vorm - Rangel Taylor Williams Monk - Britton Allen Augustien - Dyer Sinclair Graham

No one in as yet and apart from the loanee Sigursson no one of note going out.  I cant see much changing from last year and i cant see much value appearing

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

OUT

G Bale Hip/Thigh Injury no return date
Y Kaboul Knee Injury no return date
  B Assou-Ekotto Dislocated Shoulder 3rd Aug 12
M Dawson Ankle/Foot Injury no return date
T Huddlestone Ankle/Foot Injury no return date

4-3-3

Friedel - Walker Assou-Ekotu King Gallas - Sigurdsson Modric Parker - Lennon Van DerVaart Defoe

Im assuming here that Adebayor will go back to Manchester City and that AVB will want to play 4-3-3 with the team pressing high up the pitch.  At the moment the departures and injurues mean the squad is fairly bare.  The formation and the midfield personnel will be the most interesting thing to watch for fantasy premier league managers.  Judging from AVB's unpredicatble selections last season at Chelsea there will be planty of value here.  A fantastic opening schdeule means that they need to be watched closely in preseason to pick the opening day lineup.

Captain potential for the kind draw early games will probably be limited to VDV and Bale if and when he returns.  Who plays up front will be of great interest

WBA

OUT

Z Gera ACL Knee Injury 30th Jul 12

4-4-2

Foster - Reid McAuley Ridgewell Olsson - Morrison Brunt Mulumbu Thomas -Long Odemwingie

A little rotation in the midfield and a battle at right back may produce some value if someone makes the position their own but everything else should be reasonably predictable for fantasy premier league managers

WEST HAM

OUT

none

4-4-2

Jaaskelainen - Reid Tomkins McCartney O' Brien -Diame Collison Noble Nolan - Vaz Te Cole

Probably only one place up for grabs in the defence between Guy and Joey O'Brien at the moment.  Midfield will be hard to pick and Vaz Te seems the only certainty upfront.

WIGAN ATHLETIC

OUT

none

3-2-3-2

Al Habsi - Boyce Alcaraz Caldwell - Figueroa Beausejour - Mccarthy McCarthur Moloney - Di Santo Moses

I've included Moses although it seems inevitable he will be moving.  It will be interesting to see how Wigan deal with forward support to Di Santo.  There's been a lot of departures with nothing in so there's little opportunity for value for fantasy premier league managers from Wigan at the moment
